Project Benefits

Committed to the Betterment of Chaves County
Coyote Willow Energy Park has the potential to deliver significant investment in Chaves County and provide long-term benefits including new local jobs, increased tax revenue to support essential services, community partnerships, and enhanced energy reliability.
Economic Benefits
Coyote Willow Energy Park is committed to boosting the local workforce by creating opportunities for stable, well-paying jobs during the construction and maintenance of the project. The economic impact of the jobs created by Coyote Willow Energy Park will reach well beyond hired individuals, providing benefits to other community businesses and service providers.
Coyote Willow Energy Park will generate significant tax revenue that will benefit local schools, infrastructure, and community services. This new source of revenue will have a far-reaching impact throughout the community and improve the quality of life for all community members within Chaves County.

Community Benefits
As part of the Project’s commitment to being a good neighbor, Coyote Willow Energy Park will establish a quarterly community giving program that supports community-based organizations. In addition, Coyote Willow Energy Park also aims to create local scholarship opportunities and internships through the life of the project.

Energy Benefits
Coyote Willow Energy Park will provide a resilient, clean and cost-effective solution to an increasing demand for reliable domestic energy. The Project will also reduce the need for costly transmission upgrades, further contributing toward reduced energy costs for families and businesses. The project will ensure that the region has reliable, affordable energy when it is needed the most, all while advancing New Mexico’s state-wide energy goals.

Environmental Benefits
Coyote Willow Energy Park is a clean energy solution that will decrease greenhouse gas emissions and support improved air quality. The project directly supports an increased supply of renewable energy by storing low-cost grid energy and converting it to a dispatchable resource that can be discharged during peak demand periods, resulting in increased renewable integration.
The project team is working closely with environmental stakeholders to identify and mitigate any potential impacts to sensitive resources, as well as identify opportunities to improve riparian zones, semi-arid grasslands, and native species habitats.

National Security
Coyote Willow Energy Park directly supports efforts to increase national security and reduce dependency on foreign countries. After decades of relatively little change, U.S. energy consumption is forecasted to grow significantly through 2050, primarily resulting from the adoption of artificial intelligence and increased U.S. manufacturing. Coyote Willow Energy Park is a resilient, clean and cost-effective solution to an increasing demand for reliable domestic energy.
